Ms. Torres is also an adjunct business professor, lecturer, published author and Executive Director for a non-profit organization, Successful Careers: an academic motivation and intervention program for at-risk youth. CARTER D. WOMACK
HR & Leadership Development Consultant with over 30 years of experience including: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, (Mgr. EEO/Diversity), Ryder Systems, Inc., (Dir. Employee Relations), Blockbuster, Inc., (VP Human Resources), The Black Collegian magazine (Sr. VP Sales), Value City Department Stores, (EVP HR) and Viacom, Inc/Viacom Retail Stores (VP HR). Womack served as 27th and 29th National President for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and was elected as the 28th national president of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.
Serving three terms as an Akron, Ohio, city councilman, Womack is also a life member and on the board of directors for the NAACP’s Akron Branch and served with the National Alliance of Business Youth Motivation Task Force, the Urban League, the U.S. Jaycees and as chairman of the Alabama A & M University Foundation.
Womack is currently a member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources National Board of Directors, the Ohio African-American Hall of Fame Commission and is a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
He is listed in Outstanding Young Men of America; Who’s Who in the Midwest; Who’s Who in Black Corporate America and received Dollars & Sense magazine’s Brightest and Best Young Men award. Listed in the May 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996 and 1997 issues of Ebony magazine, Womack was named each year as one of the “100 Most Influential Blacks in America” and was inducted into the first Alabama A & M University Hall of Fame in 1990 for outstanding community service.
